Annual Conference of the Israeli Association of Communication Clinicians
On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the annual conference of the Israeli Association of Communication Clinicians took place in Tel Aviv.
Dr. Limor Adi-Ben Said participated in the conference and delivered a lecture on a Dedicated Protocol for the Auditory Rehabilitation of Children With Unilateral Deafness Who Have Undergone Cochlear Implant Surgery.
The lecture included a description of clinical work with children and their auditory achievements following the implementation of the rehabilitation program. It received positive feedback from the audience.
A session on aphasia (acquired language disorders) was conducted at the conference.
Communication therapist Muhammad Zabidat, a graduate of the master’s program in rehabilitation and health sciences at Ono Academic College, presented his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Aviah Gvion.
The lecture’s topic was: “Awareness of Aphasia in Israel: Evidence from a Survey Conducted Among Arab and Jewish Communities.”
In the lecture, Muhammad discussed the level of awareness of aphasia and whether there are differences between Arab and Jewish communities. The presentation was well received by the audience.
