Invitation to Rabbi Shalom's Communal Dinner in London

Director of Ono Ethiopian Center Completes London Lecture Tour

Rabbi Dr. Sharon Shalom, the founding director of Ono Academic College’s International Center for the Study of Ethiopian Jewry, recently completed a lecture tour in London, England.  During his short visit, he spoke at four Jewish Centers in Hendon, Edgware and South Hampstead, discussing Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jewry) and his work at Ono’s Center for the Study of Ethiopian Jewry.  His lecture topics included:

  • What is the cause of antisemitism? A case study of Ethiopian Jews
  • “’Go, Go Go! Keep going and never stop!’ – a personal story”
  • The difference between identification and identity in global society

Rabbi Shalom’s lectures were received with tremendous acclaim and one person in the audience asked if he could serve as the Rabbi of their synagogue in England. Rabbi Shalom was very flattered but still has a lot of important work to do yet at Ono’s Ethiopian Center.
