Overview

Management in the healthcare system today requires advanced management skills in complex systems. Such leadership requires the latest knowledge and advanced management skills to lead large and complex systems in routine conditions, uncertainty, and crisis. In addition, the managers in the healthcare system are required to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to frequent changes, technological understanding, creative thinking, and above all – leadership ability that will allow them to harness those around them to the major changes and complex needs in this sensitive area, which concerns our lives and health.

The specialization in healthcare and pharmaceutical management is intended for managers in the healthcare system – whether you are a doctor, nurse, or come from the health professions or Bio-Tech companies and want to advance in professional management in your field or on the management ladder in your organization. Professional management and an in-depth understanding of the healthcare system are needed to move the industry forward. The degree is also relevant to those who aspire to a career in the health world, are interested in joining an organization or company in the healthcare field, or desire to establish a medical startup.

In this program, you will receive management skills from within the degree in business administration, in addition to the core content required for every manager in the healthcare system, such as knowing its complex structure and understanding the flow of resources between its various parts. You will be able to assess where the Israeli healthcare system is in relation to other systems in the world and what our opportunities and barriers are compared to other countries. You will also practice quality measurement and leadership to ensure the best possible results. You will learn the basis for managing individuals and groups in the most relevant field today – the field of epidemiology, and how to initiate and lead major changes that will affect your organization and the entire country. Furthermore, you will get to know the complex world of the life cycle of drugs – from the local and global point of view – not only science but economics, regulation, assimilation processes, competition, and marketing. You will learn completely new areas, such as service and marketing, and how they affect the world of healthcare and desired patient results.
