The UJA sponsored program to reduce intra-communal conflicts among Bete Israel conducted its ninth session, in which participants presented their final projects.
The participants began by discussing the halachot of teaching non-Jews Torah in the Ethiopian and Rabbinic traditions. After going over the format for the final report, some of the participants presented their interventions which dealt with subjects like the connection of the second generation to their tradition, facilitating better service from the municipalities for the Jerusalem Bete Israel community, and opening a “Yeshiva” for Keisim. The participants received constructive advice from the group.
