Ono Holds National Conference on Supportive and Alternative Communication
Ono Academic College, together with Isaac Israel non-profit organization hosted a National Conference on Supportive and Alternative Communication at Ono’s Savyon Junction Campus.
The conference was marked by many poignant moments including lectures by Tommy Barchenko and Lilach Grand, as well as Dr. Orly Allalouf, director of Ono’s Bachelor’s degree program in Education and Society.
We heard inspiring stories during and after the proceedings, about:
- A soldier who was ordered a gaze focusing system the day after the conference
- A kindergarten where a new board was hung the day after the conference
- A child who had a new application downloaded to his iPad that he can use to share a story
- A person who will try to switch to a new model of gaze focusing system
- A visually impaired who girl who enrolled in Ono Academic College’s wonderful ‘Being a student’ program which enables people with disabilities to experience academic study.
It truly was a meaningful event.
