Ono Lecturer Talks about Snooping Social Media
Ono computer science lecturer Ran Bar-Zik was recently interviewed on Radio Tel Aviv’s “Free Market” program where he discussed how
Bar-Zik said that every post, like, click etc. that we make on Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram or other social media site, is recorded by the company with the intent of learning more about us, selling us ads and get us addicted to their information. He noted that the Apple Iphone claims to watch over the privacy of its users. However, an investigator discovered how Facebook, Instagram and TikTok succeed in overcoming the firewalls by sending us a link that we click on. It leads to an internal browser that tracks information. Bar-Zik recommended that we protect our data privacy by not downloading the social media apps and instead visiting them on the phone’s browser.
