Ono Scholar Contrasts Pre-Historic Neanderthal and Human Burial Practices in the Land of Israel

Professor Ella Been, director of the Sports Therapy degree at Ono Academic College, together with her colleague, Dr. Omry Barzilai, of the University of Haifa, published an article in the journal, L’Anthropologie, which compares the burial practices of humans and Neanderthals in our region during the middle stone age.

The study found similarities and differences in the way the two species buried their dead. The authors found differences in burial locations, body postures and specific grave items.
