An important item in the news recently has been the plans of Minister of the Interior Ayelet Shaked, Minister of Construction and Housing Zeev Elkin and former Minister of Finance Avigdor Liberman to reign in rising housing prices. Adv. Barak Malkit, a lecturer in law and business at Ono Academic College recently gave an extensive interview on Israeli radio and explained this complicated issue.

Malkit assessed the various options proposed, noted that some of them have already been tried and concluded that the issue of rising housing costs will be very difficult to solve.
