They had conversations about blockchain, a system in which a transactions, especially those conducted via cryptocurrency, are recorded across computers that are linked in a peer-to-peer network. The initiative is sponsored by the European Union’s TRUST, Horizon 2020 project, which aims “to catalyze a global collaborative effort to improve adherence to high ethical standards around the world.”
Bachar and his Italian hosts discussed the differences between the Italian and Israeli blockchain ecosystem. While in Italy, blockchain has been primarily applied to supply chain sustainability to protect products made in Italy, Israel presents a thriving ecosystem of blockchain startups in several areas like cybersecurity, fintech, and digital identity.
