Ono’s School of Humanities Publishes Spring Circular
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Ono Academic College recently published a new bulletin highlighting some of its most exciting projects. The beautifully photographed document includes the following articles:
- Deepening roots – The article describes the collaboration between Ono Academic College and the Ethiopian academic community that reached its peak in a scientific conference and a visit to that country’s universities. Nilly Venezia, manager of Ono’s International Center for the Study of Ethiopian Jewry, writes about this unique project
- Teachers of parents – M.A. students in the Education program prepared a final project that forced them to confront parents’ perceptions of teachers, and their own perceptions of the parents who are supposed to be partners with them in working for the benefit of the children
- To change without words – A bachelor’s degree student in education created a video graduation thesis that succeeded in evoking strong emotions and exciting hundreds of thousands of viewers.
- Smiling for the camera – The Israeli video therapy community recently held a conference that,explored the advantages Ono’s behavioral sciences bachelor’s program that includes a videotherapy track.
- Belief and training – a seminar paper submitted by an Ono student reveals the interesting connection between traditional medical and cultural concepts, and physical training among ultra-Orthodox women.
- To feel digital – In a world that is becoming more and more digital, the generation gap is growing and creating a host of challenges. Dr. Daphna Liber, head of the bachelor’s degree program in behavioral sciences, makes sense of this new world in her recently published book.
- The experience was so profound – Siham, a graduate of the master’s degree program in society and the arts, discusses the opportunity to meet and study with women from all over Israel, from all different backgrounds. She said that to connect with them was a very significant experience for her.
